Pump Maintenance and Winter Care

Water Feature Pump

Please read this in conjunction with the manufacturers manual we provide with your fountain pump.

All the pumps are provided with 10 metres of outdoor cable.

The pump should be checked every couple of months for blockages in and around the intake. Every 2-3 months turn the pump off and remove the impeller/rotor checking for debris and lime scale. To clean the pump simply was in warm water.

Tips for the pebble pool

In plastic pebble pools place the pump on a brick raising it above the base of the pool. This will help reduce the amount of debris in the pump and prolong its life.

Winter Care

Freezing conditions can cause damage to your water feature, in particular the electric water pump. It is really important that water features are properly prepared for when the cold weather sets in.

All Haddonstone products are frost resistant they will still need protection from the freezing weather. The best way to do this is with an insulated fountain cover. We do sell a full range of fountain protection covers but even BBQ covers are often suitable.

The winter is an ideal time to take the pump to pieces and give it a thorough clean. Any lime scale can be scrubbed off using a mild detergent paying particular attention to the impeller/rotor.

Delivery of your Haddonstone Water Feature

Haddonstone has its own fleet of delivery vehicles and once produced your fountain will be loaded onto a pallet and onto a lorry. All these vehicles either have a forklift facility of tail-lift and delivery is to the kerbside (please note our prices do not include siting or installation of the feature). Due to health and safety restrictions and the variations in what customers drives are made from all pallets delivered to the kerbside where the fountain can then be carried in pieces to the required position in your garden.
