There are thousands of different water features and fountains scattered across the globe, we have dug out the top five most impressive and largest of them all from Dubai to Singapore.

1.   The Dubai Fountain (Dubai)

The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain. It is set in a 30 acre manmade lake in the centre of Downtown Dubai. The fountain performs once every half an hour to recorded music. It can shoot 83,000 litres of water at any moment and water jets as high as 240 feet into the air. The fountain also has extreme shooters, not used in every show, which can reach 150 meters, or 492 feet. It is illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 coloured projectors, the 900 feet long fountain can be seen from over 20 miles away.

 2.   The Trevi Fountain (Rome)

The Trevi Fountain in Rome, stands at 26.3 metres high and 49.15 metres wide, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome. An estimated 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain each day!

 3.   The Jet d'Eau (Switzerland)

The Jet d’Eau is a very large fountain in Switzerland and is one of the city's most famous landmarks! It is one of the largest fountains in the world and is situated at the point where Lake Geneva meets the Rhone River. The fountain pumps 500 litres of water per second, which shoot to a height of 140 metres! During operation there can be up to 7000 litres of water in the air at any one time. It is visible throughout the city and attracts hundreds of visitors every day!

 4.   Fountains of Bellagio (Las Vegas)

Simply Stunning! The fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas are a beautifully designed feature where the water dances to a variety of music from opera, classical and show tunes! The area of the lake expanse is 375 000 square feet and the water there could fill 2000 swimming pools. If you were to fill the lake with a garden hose, it would take over a year!

5.   The Fountain of Wealth (Singapore)

The Fountain of Wealth, constructed in 1995 consists of a circular ring with a circumference of 66 metres and is supported by four large columns. It covers an area of 1683.07 square metres and has a height of 13.8 metres. The fountain is a symbol of wealth and life and the inward flowing of the water represents this. Tourists touch the water and it is suggested that it brings good luck! The fountain is located in the Suntec City area where people can enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants surrounding the fountain and watch the laser shows in the evening!
